Finch Station has a rich history dating back to the 1970s, when it was first proposed as part of the Toronto Transit Commission's (TTC) expansion of the Yonge-University-Spadina line. The station was designed to serve the growing residential and commercial areas in the north part of the city and was officially opened on March 30, 1974.
