FARE CAPPING PROTOCOL (Sept 2026)
Beginning September 2026, the TTC will introduce automatic fare capping. Once you reach 47 paid trips in a calendar month using the same PRESTO, credit, or debit card, all subsequent rides for the remainder of that month are FREE.
Regional Transfers
TTC customers enjoy a free two-hour transfer window when using PRESTO or contactless payment. One-Way fares apply for GO Transit and YRT/Viva boardings at Finch Terminal.
One-Fare Program
Structure TR-Finch is part of Ontario's One-Fare program. When transferring between TTC and GO Transit/YRT, you only pay once. The transfer discount is applied automatically at the PRESTO gates.
FARE FAQ
Q: How does the two-hour transfer work?
When you tap your PRESTO or contactless card, you have two hours to board any number of TTC vehicles in any direction for a single fare.
Q: Are seniors and students eligible for discounts?
Yes, but you must set the senior or youth concession on your PRESTO card at a Shoppers Drug Mart or TTC Customer Service Centre.
Q: Can I pay for multiple people with one card?
No, currently PRESTO and contactless payments only support one person per card per journey.
